Causes of low cooling efficiency or no cooling

  • Often times this problem is as simple as a lack of air flow around the condenser. There is an internal fan near the condenser; make sure it is coming on properly and the flan blade (in certain models) is spinning fast enough to provide the necessary amount of air flow
  • The engine may be overheating. An engine that is operating at elevated temperatures can have a significant impact on how well your air conditioning system works. Make sure that the electric fans responsible for cooling the condenser and the radiator are operating at their full potential
  • If all else fails, have your Freon levels checked by a mechanic that is certified in air conditioning diagnostics. Low Freon levels can have a negative impact on your AC’s efficiency
